What is the Lafayette snobbery?

They make one pass thru River Ranch and suddenly it's all of Lafayette.
Meanwhile the rest of us here also hate those types.

The snobs in RR have nothing on the gays in the Saint Streets.

Well, maybe more money.

I'm not sure what you are considering the south side of town, are you referring to Youngsville? In my trip I went from my house off of East Bayou (which is "south Lafayette") to The Yard Goat off of Bertrand, crossed the river on Pinhook, and traffic was pretty much bumper to bumper on Kaliste and Pinhook.

Lol, no. You went from the tippy top of south Lafayette to basically the middle of Lafayette. Depending on exactly where you started, that trip was roughly four miles long, a solid third of it having to go in the wrong direction because of the river and the aforementioned four points to cross it, and would take you about 11 minutes.

By contrast, today is a particularly bad day of traffic in Baton Rouge (yes, I appreciate the irony ), going from downtown to City Pork on Jefferson, an over five mile drive, will currently take you 13 minutes.

If you have a second, plot those four points on a map and look at how far away from each other they are as the crow flies. Then you’ll see why I laugh at people who pretend as though it’s easier to get around Lafayette.

If you’re driving through Baton Rouge and get stuck on the interstate (like now), get stuck crossing the new bridge, etc? Yep, fricking blows. Know what people who live in Baton Rouge generally don’t have to do on a daily basis? Either of those things.

Eta: I forgot to add, but once the post was finished, it would have felt out of place to shove in, so when I talked about across Lafayette, I meant down around the Ambassador/KS intersection up to downtown proper. Grand total of about 6.5 miles and would take about 22 minutes right now.

Eta2: Being I know no one will actually do it, the distance between a reasonable middle point of E. Bayou Pkwy (being I don't know where he lives) and the Yard Goat is just under 1.8 miles as the crow flies. For context, that's about the distance from Barracuda Taco to Superior Grill, or Zorba's to Baton Rouge Country Club. Distances that are barely considered different parts of the city, much less across the city, in Baton Rouge.

Unlike in Lafayette, in Baton Rouge, you can escape both if you try. Good luck in Lafayette trying to cross town and being limited to the four streets that cross the river
That's a pretty rich statement coming from a guy that lives in a city that builds a once in a lifetime bridge to cross the Mississippi River.......... in St Francisville

I know this blows the minds of people who don’t live here, but the average person who lives in Baton Rouge practically never has to cross the Mississippi River. The only time I do so is to go visit family in Lafayette. How easy or difficult it is to cross the river has no impact on my daily life

Sure, there are some douches that don't like LSU/Baton Rouge, but I wouldn't classify those people are snobs, they are mostly losers

the old...who is your mama and where did you go to school thing is still kind of prevalent in some circles there. its not as bad as it was, but still there. I dunno why or how but 100% some snobbery.

especially against us LC folks.

Growing up in Lafayette, we basically considered Lake Charles to be East Texas, so that’s probably why
