That's scary. Hopefully just lost.

Well that seems horribly irresponsible

I'd be pissed if my babysitter took my 7 year old daughter for a canoe trip in high water. Very pissed.

Something is odd about this story. You don't just take a 7 year old canoeing when water depths are up.

Eh, could just be the family sitter that's been watching the kids for a few years and has been told they can take the canoe out. May have not known the high water was a problem.

I live right by here. Saw a heli and plane doing orbits and knew something wasn't right. My sauces are telling me they don't suspect foul play and they are diving in the pond. Tons of boats out in the swamp area. Hope we can get a happy ending by morning. Sheriff Garber is a good guy and hope he is staying strong right now.

Just.saw this on the news. Man, I pray that they are ok. Garber seems like a good guy. Hopefully they had on life jackets. Surely the little one did.

That is a horrible situation. Thoughts and prayers for a safe return of his daughter and the babysitter.

Not the type of news I enjoy reading at 4:30 am.

Some kind of robocall system I guess from Lafayette sheriff called me at 11 last night to tell me about this. Did it call anyone else? Seems like that type of system should be reserved for abductions.

I hope for the best for them
