That dog and that lady have definitely frenched.
And she thinks it’s normal.

I thought they dog had to be in some kind of soft shell kennel?
Also, I hope you sent a sternly worded letter to the airline.

Ah yes, the real problem with America as whole.
A lack of self-awareness.

Here is another: bringing your dog to the grocery store
I spent a little bit of time working as a manager for a buddy of mine who owns a couple of grocery stores and if I saw someone bringing in a dog that was clearly not a service dog, I'd tell they had to go.
I hate these people that feel they're entitled to bring their dog EVERYWHERE they go. Major "pet" peeve of mine.

Glad to see people get called out. It's been out of hand for years but no one really wants to be considered a jerk for telling them to get that animal out of our food. I once heard a customer complain at a restaurant that there were no dog items on the menu and was pissed off.

I like to toss my dead hookers to my dog.

The dog thing is way, way out of hand.
I see dogs just about everywhere I go. It’s freaking weird, and businesses need to start putting up no pets allowed rules.

At a lounge in the airport and witnessed a lady holding her dog over the food serving area.
This reminds me of a similar incident involving a human with complete lack of self awareness of what they were doing with there body around "protected" food area.
I was getting something from Izzo's a while back and this elderly (60-70ish yo) man was in front of me with his wife ordering and waving his hand WAY across the spit shield pointing to items for his burrito or whatever. Server was ignoring/unaware of what old dude was doing. I didn't say anything initially, in the hope employee would say something. Again, employee was clueless. I refrained from saying until old man dug in his ear before continuing to wave/point his fingers over the food.
I finally had enough of people being to pussified or unaware and confronted old man after the ear dig. Of course he was pissed/played tough guy, but the ear dig/food pointing was the last straw for me. Manager came over and was a huge puss about the confrontation/staff's failure to say anything.
People simply have zero self-awareness/consideration for others and need to be called out when appropriate.

Good boy-ism is elevating dogs over humans in many instances
Holy hyperbole!
Oh and you’re full of shite. If not, list the “many” instances. There are people who are stupid about their pets. But we don’t elevate dogs over humans. If we did, no one would have rebuked the women in this story. If this story is even true.

But we don’t elevate dogs over humans
My last dog...now passed away...was better than 90% of the people I come across. I didn't elevate him to that level, people devolved to be worse than my dog. He didn't go everywhere with us and was not a service dog.
But the OP and everyone should realize that this is more about the abuse of the term "service animal". There are some pretty good legal securities for them and it's not hard to get some doctor to write it up.
Not long ago the number one service dog in Louisiana was the Pit Bull.
You know what you can't discriminate against in housing/apartment rentals?

I can respect the need for a medically defined and certified “service” animal, but the “support” animal thing is out of control.
I love my dog too.

Agreed. People taking their dogs into restaurants and stores is disgusting and uncivilized. Growing up in the 80s/90s I don’t remember this being a thing, and if someone did bring a dog into a grocery store I’d imagine they’d be rightfully told to gtfo.

And then changing on trunk of car and leaving soiled diaper in parking lot

My lab pretty much rides everywhere I go on the weekends, but she stays in the truck with the AC on when I go inside. Occasionally, I will let her come into the tractor supply with me, but that's about it. A lot of businesses are afraid to confront these people due to confusion around service animals. And no, an emotional support animal is not the same as a service dog with a job.

How about a pit bull at Costco Food Court? Saw it in Lafayette.

We don’t elevate dogs over humans. Shitty, selfish people do inconsiderate things. Simple as that. Dogs haven’t achieved some societal/religious status as cows in India.
I don’t want dogs in public places that aren’t specifically designated as “pet friendly” (like certain bars and retail establishments ). But it’s on the business owner to police this same as they would dress codes or behavior. Suggesting we’ve given canines the same privileges as humans is foolish. We haven’t. We simply refuse to confront bad behavior when it occurs because it’s easier ( and less risky) to bitch about it on social media while blowing it out of proportion.

I don’t have a problem with dogs at places like that as long as they’re controlled and not bothering anyone. And yes I bring my GR there and similar places, very short leash, he loves being around people.
The only questionable place I sometimes bring him is Total Wine if it’s a quick run in. But I’m extra strict with him there, and the employees smile and talk to him.
