Sorry...I misspoke, it's an 18' Bayliner. There's only four of us (two adults and two kids) so it's a perfect size

The guy came recommended from a friend of mine and it's supposed to be from 9-1 but we were given permission to get it as early as 8

Cost was $325 and includes fuel

We bring our own tent and leave the frame up at night (well anchored and canopy taken off nightly so that it doesn’t going flying while we’re asleep), but everything else is either neatly stacked (chairs) or brought up with us.

Quit leaving your junk on the beach. This is why the no tent rules are made and enforced.

Yeah..I agree here.

Not only is it trashy to just try to stake claim to the same beach spot every day it can really F with the turtles trying to make it to the water at night.

Well, again, there have not been any rules regarding that in Ft. Morgan like there are in cities like Orange Beach and Gulf Shores. So no rules have been broken. Second, as I said, 99% of our stuff is removed from the beach each day. No trash, no toys, no beach towels, etc. are left on the beach ever. The only thing left is a tent frame, that is well anchored and not near the water. If you just take a stroll down the beach, you will see hundreds of people who do the exact same thing. Our single tent frame takes up less space than those wooden rental chairs on the beach in front of every single condo.

The spot we set up is right in front of our house, so no one else tries to set up there anyway.

the gulf coast beaches are just as stressful and a pain in the arse like a downtown work environment. not a vacation.

at morgantown 10 years ago, you could maintain a 75 foot separation from others at the beach except on 4th of July. not so much anymore. back then, leaving an umbrella and chairs stacked on the beach was no big deal. now, you see 6 12'x 20' tent frames set up at the end of the boardwalk and they stay up all summer. it's a blight.

Is that the going rate these days? A full day would run around $600 on a boat that probably costs $30k? Not saying you’re wrong, just surprised how expensive everything has become.

The hourly rate on a full day is almost always better than a half day but $325 is probably a bit on the low end from what I found. We also didnt want a pontoon boat.

Here is a link to another company we found in the same area but like I said, we didnt really want a pontoon.

Yeah, and that’s definitely not what we do. We are a pretty small group, so our tent isn’t big. Way smaller than the rental tents. We also set up an umbrella, but we take it down daily.
