I went to LSU for undergrad and for grad school. Very happy with my experience and it helped me build a career that has absolutely taken me so far beyond where I ever thought I’d be.
I’m 10 years away from having these chats, but if things don’t change I might encourage my kids to choose LaTech over LSU.
LSU is letting a lot of kids in that flunk out after a couple of semesters. They are taking their tuition but they aren’t graduating. IMO that’s dishonest. LSU needs to tighten admission and decrease undergraduate enrollment. Not the other way around.

Not disagreeing with you but it happens a lot of places. You could argue it’s good they’re giving these people a shot. Some of those kids will make it and be successful even if a lot of them wash out.

Look I don’t respect LSU as an academic institution but by what metric is La Tech better

The Tech fans in here don't seem to be any more emotionally mature.

Last I checked, you don’t even need to take the ACT or SAT to get admitted into LSU. Not the same for La Tech.
Just checked again, LSU is test optional.

Anyone can get in, but can you get in without TOPS and scholarships, of course you can......i mean, anyone can get into Newman or Tulane if you're willing to pay

Nope. The video of the Freshmen class dancing on the P-Mac shows the sort of kids that are accepted at LSU.

Just bc they’re accepted doesn’t mean they graduate

Multiple electronic billboards on I-10 stating they are the #1 academic public university in the state. LSU should be fricking ashamed they have let standards fall so far.

Louisiana Tech still requires an ACT score.
LSU requires you to fog a mirror.

Yet, they are admitted into the university. That’s the point.

All these butt hurt folks are thinking it’s still the same LSU they went to and remember. Unfortunately, that’s just not the case anymore.

LSU academics aren't good but still manage to somehow keep a better reputation in academic and professional circles.
