Pretty sure I caught some rebel flag beads back in the day. And pretty sure I still have them somewhere around my house. Glad I lived in the non pussified age. Everything sucks now.

Soft soft soft look by Thoth. Lot of baws in Thoth are not gonna be happy with this.
I don't think you will find all that many guys who care that the guy actually throwing the beads got kicked out, to be honest.
If a rider is still throwing "controversial" items in 2025 after seeing other krewes get blasted in news for same thing year after year, that is a risk that rider takes.
Nola.com article said the Float Lieutenant was also kicked out of Thoth. That's something more likely to piss some others off, if the Float Lieutenant had nothing to do with throwing the beads.

Last year Thoth riders ignored the rules and blew out a transformer with a confetti cannon that stalled the parades and knocked the power out to fat Harry’s.
Throwing this idiot rider out is much less about the actual stupid beads thrown and more a message to their Krewe members to stop ignoring the rules. They’ve already been threatened a few times with route changes and things which is not a fun negotiation to have with the city. Makes sense they have to tighten up on their membership.
Sends a strong messages to other float lieutenants though. Bummer that guy had to be the example but it’s a risk you take when you take on responsibility.

People who get offended by Confederate propaganda are absolutely cool with Mexico's flag being flown by Mexican descendants in protest of American policy.

Imagine going out of your way to throw something that you know are against the rules and offensive to some.
It’s fricking Mardi Gras.
They literally throw squishy gel filled tits and beads with boobs or weed.
They have floats with Cantrell bent over/under a table.
Is Chaos and De’tat not going to be able to make certain floats to not offend someone?
Christ…people need to grow the frick up. If you don’t want the bead you caught then throw it on the ground. It’s literally that easy.

But this was against the rules. Not that hard to follow the rules you agree to and go out and have fun.
What was the rule that was broken?

This is what society has morphed into. How pathetic their lives must be.

Did he kick out the Lt. that allowed a woman to ride?

Krewe of Thoth kicks out 2 members after Confederate beads thrown at Mardi Gras parade
I would be proud to be removed from these weak scumbags.
I would hope I never find myself associated with stains like the "Krewe of Thoth". Sounds like a bunch of fat arse basement dwellers.

I agree with you. I can't imagine being offended.
Still, it isn't hard to follow policy that you signed up to follow (especially relating to something as simple as beads). The riders didn't throw them by mistake. They had a clear agenda, and that imo makes them trolls.
