The elephant in the room is that these so called elites either allowed New Orleans to turn into what it has become, in which case they were grossly negligent and incompetent-or they were unable to stop it, in which case they never were as powerful as they were given credit for.

In terms of power and blame, Krewe of Choctaw should me mentioned. Most of the white mayors and council members from Behrman on were Regular Democrats with the exception of Walmsley.

Carolina and UVA, while public, are a cut above LSU easily. If you had said NC State it’d have made more sense.

Difference, but not a world of difference. The overall quality of students and professors is higher at UVA, but they are instructing the same concepts similar books or other references at LSU for vast amount of courses.
It’s how much you apply yourself and leadership /communication skills will serve you better than where your degree is from once you get in the private sector.
