Exactly. Some of the misconceptions in here are laughable.

Perhaps most laughable is the theory that MG ran businesses out of town and helped grow Houston and Atlanta. MG is one of the few things that has prevented Nola from turning into Jackson.

So the power structure (Comus, Momus, Rex, etc) had nothing to do with NOLA’s decline? Got it. That’s laughable.

Does anyone know who the top socially prominent names are that make up the bulk of comus membership?

You would be so wrong in suggesting that members of either Krewe would be supporting Cantrell.....maybe some of them supported Landrieu because of his father but overall the membership of both is made up of conservative types....especially Proteus.
