Your true self and essence are eternal. You are just renting this Earth suit for a few decades at most.

it's a shame that they all died but his life doesn't mean more than your's or mine.

It really does though.

Only if it's meaningful to you. I feel for the families like I feel for the families of any tragedy, but Kobe wasn't a part of my life, nor do I care for celebrity.

Neal Peart was meaningful to me, when he passed, but not in a mournful way. Just remembrance.

The real tragedy imo is the death of those young people on the flight and the pain those left behind must be feeling.

I can't imagine dealing with one of my children dying before me.

It does though whether you want to admit it or not.

. It was bizarre when he retired, this is just unbelievably sad.
how was that bizarre. He could barely jump any more. He should have retired 2 years earlier.

As you get ready to go to sleep start thinking about whether you’ll wake up or pass in your sleep.

It’ll keep you awake contemplating life and death until you can’t keep your eyes open.

People are awake doing life while you’re asleep and you might not wake up.

So did everyone else. But yes, you need to live every day like it's your last, cause it might be.

Put more in your 401k, save your money, bombard the money board with your strategies for living the good life in your 60’s, defer your pleasure and happiness, skip your kid’s ball game for that business appointment, work harder and harder...

Yeah, no.

Yup, never promised the next day at ANY age. That's why people shouldn't think, " I don't need God until I'm 80 and on my death bed". Never know when you will meet your Maker

Pretty much. Live your life now. Don’t wait. Which is why it can suck so much when you have to kill your self just to survive sometimes in this world.

We all have our day... sad for the families. But everyones time will come. Just need to learn to appreciate each day, not take things for granted. Dont out off time with family.. live and love. No amount of money can save you from death.

Yeah it’s a terrible thought for any human. At any moment it could be you, your wife, child, or any other family member. That’s why you should strive to do as much as you can to enjoy life with your loved ones.

Just like he would any other morning. Enjoying the fruits of retirement with his kids.

By 2:00 PM the country was mourning his death.

As a grown man, I still struggle with the concept of death.

It makes dying peacefully of old age at home or in a hospital surrounded by your family and friends all the more badass and an accomplishment in itself.

I am not in mourning

I mean it is sad but no sadder than the 1,000 other dads and husbands that died today
