I was never a Kobe fan, mostly because he played for the Lakers, but I couldn't believe this when I heard it earlier. He had a lot to offer and was way too young for this to happen too.

She would have a ton of liquid assets coming her way but I get your point
Money would mean nothing at this point. I don't know if anything would mean anything at this point.
I'm not sure how go forward after that.

the S-76 requires 2 pilots.
Only for paid charters. Private can fly with just one.

The reporter said it in a way that seems quite possible to have been a mistake. It didn't sound confident/clear when he said it and I haven't heard it elsewhere...hope so.

You'd be surprised how much money can make a tragedy easier to cope with.
Not saying it lessens the grief in any way, but it allows access to better coping mechanisms and help.

If the ABC story is true, at least one of the daughters was not on the helicopter.
S-76 requires 2 pilots, so 2 of the daughters wouldnt be there

ABC now reporting that his 4 daughters were on the helicopter as well.

ABC is reporting his daughters were the other people in the helicopter.... I really hope that isn’t true
Really hope this is false.

Exactly. That is the first thing some people think about.

Not that surprising if they were going on a trip somewhere.
It’s normal for him to travel by helicopter. IIRC he would use it to go to his games

They were already loaded. I might could see if it were a poor person using it as motivation but not her.

@JimMWeber
FWIW, TMZ's report says, "KB is survived by his wife Vanessa, and their four daughters -- Gianna, Natalia and Bianca and their newborn Capri."
Could also be sloppy reporting but can only hope TMZ is correct and none were on board.

People magazine still reporting that he was survived by his wife and 4 children. I hope it stays that way. I also hope his wife didn't find out from TMZ posting it.

Yashar Ali (NY Mag and HuffPo) seems to agree with us

3. An on-air ABC News report has given people the impression that Kobe Bryant's daughters were on board the helicopter.
So far no one else has that reporting and that reporting isn't contained in ABC News digital story which I've linked in this tweet.

Damn they have little babies too.

All four daughters on board?
They said 5 were dead. Was Kobe a pilot?
I would guess it was Kobe, Pilot and 3 daughters. The youngest is 7months and could have been left behind with his wife. Just a guess
Posted on 1/26/20 at 2:25 pm to YNWA
Kobe owned his own helicopter and did fly it
Posted on 1/26/20 at 2:26 pm to YNWA
I'm betting Kobe, 2 pilots, Kobe's PR guy, and an assistant.

Well in fairness, she would need a lot of counseling and resources that can become expensive over time and not having monetary concerns is huge when there such a huge need elsewhere in her life and really the same applies to others who get in a bad situation. So while it isn't the biggest consideration in cases like this, obviously the loss is, it is up there as it can supply some peace of mind and a level of needs met.
