My little girl came up to me the other day and gave me a big hug and a kiss on the lips and said "Daddy, I love you the most in the world, even more than mommy."

That was kind of awesome. I'll remember that in about 10 years when she hates me

Exactly, at some point, she/he will barely want to be associated with me, much less show affection.

Take advantage of it when they are kids, b/c it ends too fast.

I love threads like this. It makes it easy to identify the 21 year olds.

My son is 3 and he kisses me on the lips sometimes. Next time he does it I'm going to punch him in the face and call him a fig.......BECAUSE I'M NOT GAY. THAT'S WEIRD.

she's a pretty normal kid. every now and then kids want to crawl in bed with their parents. Maybe you have issues.

I've had this moment before and it is one of the best things that is happened in my life.

I try not to think about the translation though: "Right now you are my favorite but that is subject to change".

sounds normal to me. I hope that when my kid's are teenagers they'll still come in our room like that.

I do it everyday and don't care what anyone thinks.

In the morning when I leave for work, my daughter runs up to me asking for a hug and a kiss. She wants to tell me bye and that she loves me.

So, I don't care if someone thought it was creepy, I love seeing her run towards me to greet me or say bye

I didn't read where anyone was inferring that it was gay. That's just silly. Not all parents raise children the same way.

it's not often. maybe once every month or two. if it was a boy it would probably would never happen at that age.

What are your thoughts on that? I've seen this before and have always found it odd.

I just can't imagine being a small child and having kissed my dad on the lips.

This is such a stupid issue to get weirded out over.

Kiss my 2yo son, usually on the cheek; sometimes on the lips. Just depends on if he faces me or not. Never really thought about it being inappropriate.

This is the OT, you can't be surprised. Not many other places with a larger population of insecure people than this one.

My daughter is 6 and I kiss her on the lips all the time. Figure that will faze out in a couple years when she naturally starts the teenage hate the parents routine. After that, probably just kisses on the cheek or forehead.
