King Cake shipping to another state

I want to ship a King Cake to someone in New Jersey. Any recommendations on what place to ship from? I know there are a lot of different personal preferences when it comes to these. Who does this the best? Thanks for the help.

Haydels Bakery ships year round and does a great job. They put some extra Mardi Gras stuff in the boxes that people from out of state will enjoy.

Is their king cake full of sprinkled sugar on top or icing?

I did a Nonna Randazzo cake to a buddy in Utah 2 years ago and it showed up flawless and quickly. I did everything online and they handled the shipping side. It was USPS next day air saver.
I went down a rabbit hole of bad results people had but the main thing I took away seemed to be to avoid FedEx, which is good advice in general. Apparently if you take one to USPS they also can help you box it tight and keep it protected.

Publix in our area sells Haydels King Cake during Mardi Gras. One of the guys in my office, from Red Stick, brought one to work last year and I asked him if he'd been home and he laughed and said "no, Publix"

I agree but a guy just shipped me $700 fresh seafood from his boat and I'm willing to make him the exception to the rule about King Cakes. Can't send him crawfish right now so I'll settle for king cake.

Shipping a cake like during summer is risky. If it its on a hot delivery truck for too long, the icing will melt.

I have received king cakes from Gambino’s in Colorado. They were well packed and come in a nice presentation with some community coffee and some Mardi Gras beads, etc. mine arrived okay….but you are at the mercy of the fedex drivers.

I have ordered it with just the purple, green, and gold sugar only ~ no white icing.( my favorite) I am an Original McKenzie King Cake fan.

Also, Camellia City Randazzos in Slidell. They also have several options.
Only open December thru Mardi Gras.
They are the only bakery that ships their King Cakes in a patented plastic container.
I have shipped both Slidell Randazzos and Haydel’s out of state.

I send to Philly every year from Ambrosia. It’s expensive as hell but it gets there quickly and still fresh. I’d like to try other bakeries but my family up there seems to like it
