Wind has been bad all day, but at the time of the crash a thin band of rain and wind came through and took it to 11.

There was a gust of wind(48mph) at the time of the crash.

According to flight aware, it crashed basically not too much after take off.

that's terrible if that was the cause, well above the velocity that he should be operating in

At about the time of the crash or just before I guess, I turned west on 630 which basically runs even with the airport and drove through the same band of weather that I assume caused the crash.

It was a fricker of a band of bad weather

I sense an NTSB/FAA investigation which concludes "pilot error". As is usually the case in NTSB/FAA investigations.

been around death up close and personal all of my aviation career, now that I'm getting older and near the end it hits a little harder, the two B-17 pilots that got killed a couple of months ago were friends of mine, hit me right in the gut, pilots are the worst with gallows humor and I'll bet there were 300-400 at both of those funerals and didn't hear a peep, even saw a tear or two, a lot of nickels thrown in the grass

They took off just as a line of thunderstorms was moving through Little Rock. Pretty sad. If they just looked at the weather they'd still be alive.

They were CTEH employees. An environmental consulting firm.

Hate to be part of the private aviation company and mets that gave them the all clear on this takeoff if CTEH used one.

They took off at 11:56 am. Here's the radar up to 11:40 with the line moving into Little Rock. Definitely had get-there-itis and didn't want to wait if they were aware of the line.

Local news said before take off the wind was blowing at one angle and 5 min after take off, the wind complete changed the angle it was blowing.

Pretty sure that’s what they said.

That was a pretty good thunderstorm going on at the time. Do these planes usually take off in that kind of weather?

Well that's dumb.

How can you tell if someone is a pilot? Give them 30 seconds. They will tell you.

After making a southern crossing attempt, turned back to Brazil. Then, flew back to North America, crossing the Atlantic on a northern route. Landed in Nigeria on 2/8/23. Went dark after that.

My best friends husband is a private pilot out of Little Rock. Texted her immediately and thankfully wasn’t her husband. Was a private Little Rock firm with their leadership on board. I am surprised a plane took off around that time, we were getting horrendous straight line winds in Little Rock. So, so very sad.

no, he was in the right seat building flight time, the pilot didn't do weight and balance computation before takeoff, took off over gross weight, lost an engine right after takeoff and put in the wrong rudder input, he killed everyone on board

I’m halfway to my private. Just reading that made my stomach turn. Terrible.
