They were on their way to Ohio for for an incident at a metal plant.

quote:

All of the people on the plane including the pilot were employees of CTEH, which is a consulting firm that provides response services, including "environmental data collection, and management, GIS, safety, incident management, industrial hygiene, toxicology and human health consulting for the public and private sectors."

Why would you try to fly through that?
After reading that top management was on board it's likely pressure to proceed with the flight was felt by the pilot.

So client pressure on management. Management pressure on pilot.

Noon in Little Rock. It was 2.5 to 3 hours to Cleveland. By the time you load out and drive to the accident site, you are pushing sunset. They could have been pushing to get on site before dark.

A co-worker’s husband was a pilot that flew pipelines and high lines. After a severe thunderstorm,a CLECO guy wanted to fly some high lines.Friend’s husband wanted to wait awhile to make sure the storm was out of the area.CLECO guy put the pressure on him so against his better judgement they took off.
They got hit by a wind shear and crashed, both walked way.He continued to fly for CLECO but they never pressured him again to fly when he didn’t feel safe.

Coincidentally Maine is the closest state to Africa though.
Maybe statute mileage-wise but not any other way.

White: 93.68%
Two or more races: 2.76%
Black or African American: 1.39%
Asian: 1.14%

Have flown many many miles on a King Air. The pilot was in total control over the owner. If the pilot said no go then it was a no go period.

They could well have been headed to palestine. Remediation.

Was in north little rock today and went to lunch about noon. Went from a few drops to heavy rain blowing sideways right about noon. Locked my truck and was in no hurry and was like a water hose turned on. It came in very fast.

Thought the same thing. Well, as passengers we are also saddened.
