My dad whipped me once, and I deserved it. The rest of the time our mother was the disciplinarian in our house.

Born in 72, so kid years would be mid to late 70's-early 80's, and hell yes. My brother and I had a name for it, "The Big Belt" and we'd have to go get it out of his room before the said arse beating occurred. My father beat my arse worse, but my mother wasn't far behind. She'd get in these damn bitchy arse moods, and my brother and I would catch hell. She'd whip us with whatever she could find at the time. The metal end of a fly swatter was the worst.

I didn't spank my children I lectured. They would ask "can't we just have a spanking?"
My sisters don't spank either. All of our kids are well mannered and can behave in public. We all would leave a fun activity in a heartbeat if a kid was acting up (as early as toddlers). They learned to act right real quick.

Yeah, I think my parents style would be no bueno today. My dad was an engineer. All lectures went back to engineering.

80s kid. My grandpa made us go pick the switch but barely tapped us or didn’t whip us at all. The process of walking back behind the pond crying in anticipation was the real punishment.

I never did but was threatened with it as a possibility. At my elementary school, it was apparently allowed by the Principal if your parents signed the approval at beginning of year. We would debate whether our parents signed it.

The worst was mom giving a belt arse whipping, then saying, your dad’s going to talk to you when he gets home. Completely unfair.

Dad with belt more than a few times.
The worst part wasn't the belt. It was the wait.
Mom would call him and tell him while he was at work. So you had to wait...knowing it was coming.

Never from Mom (no pics), 100% Dad. Not many times though because I was pretty good and I was the last kid, with a bunch of sisters in between me and our eldest brother.
Our elder brother was pretty bad and Dad was much younger so there were probably too many spankings for him. That was in the early to mid ‘60s too with all the Establishment shite going on, the old man was going to prove who was the King in his castle. I learnt from my brother’s arse whuppins.
