This is the part of parenting no one tells you about. Pretty normal. Thankfully, you mostly forget about the pain. There are some stretches though that are insane

They bring so much shite home from daycare. We were just all taking turns being sick for a solid 3 months after starting daycare. It’s gotten better, but winter is most definitely coming.

Thank God all of ours are sinus related. A little over a year into daycare, and we’ve yet to be put down by a stomach related illness.

Eta: what sucks for us, is we don’t have any grandparents sitting there ready to take them for a day or two. In laws are dead, my dad is disabled, and mom still works. When the little squirt gets sick, somebody is staying home.

This is how kids build their immune systems, also why masking, hand sanitizer, and bubble wrap g them is a terrible idea in general.

The wife always gets sick with the kids, I almost never do. I attribute it to superior genes.

Yes. And it’s the reason we give children flu and Covid vaccines even though they probably wouldn’t die from those diseases. Children are the most efficient disease distributors in a population.

If you gave your kid that vaccine you deserve to be whooped with a leather belt

Take some multivitamins and Emergen-C to keep your immune system going strong. The kids will expose you far more than your body can handle on its own, gotta give it a fighting chance

I used to get sick once every two or three years. Since having kids(2 year old & 7 month old), I get a bad stomach bug once or twice a year.

every winter from Thanksgiving straight through to February

It’s the whole family getting together helping spread their germs. Little shits go visit family they haven’t seen in forever (and probably are terrified of them). Family members force them to give hugs and kiss all over them introducing your sponges to new germs. They then go back to their friends at school and share. Then a few weeks later we get to repeat with Christmas & NYE

Millennial’s immune systems are shot. Too many video games and unhealthy food, booze, drugs etc.

Before I had kids I hardly ever went to a doctor, I remember a buddy that already had kids told me that shite was over and the kids were going to bring home every damn disease, known to mankind and make us sick. I wasn’t sure I believed him and first few years weren’t bad but when pre K hit it was like a freaking hurricane

They will have God-like immune systems by about 6. If they need tubes in their ears do that too.

Our 4y/o is in a HALF DAY program. 9A-12P. Pretty much all the kids have stay-at-home moms. And they still can’t keep their sick kids away from other kids.

They just send them to school/daycare and try to get enough done in the time it takes for the school to call them to pick their sick kid up. They DGAS about other kids or their families. My kid and I have been sick the whole thanksgiving break thanks to one parent (and I know who she is). Psycho.

If you knowingly send your sick, feverish kid to school to infect other kids, you should be charged with some form of assault.
