Yes, god forbid people start thinking for themselves. We should all abandon individual thought and raise our kids the way other people tell us to.

In my house, "sir" or "ma'am" is for non-family. I don't have a superiority complex that needs to be fed by my kids.

Late to this thread, but hats off to you, Sir. Not too many kids learn respect these days. It is also a good Southern tradition.

You want an asswhipping at my house? Call your mother something other than Mam or Mom. Tell her something other than Please or Thank You. I can't stand that shite.

My biggest pet peeve is kids calling their parents by their first names. Makes me wanna punch somebody.

Aren't you the 'women shouldn't drive men' guy?

I wish I could build a time machine to haul some of you fricks back to the 50s. No, it wasn't better in the 'good ol days.'

I feel the same way about people that can't spell ma'am.

It's mainly a southern thing. Out of respect and being polite. Yet another reason the South is great

Hell yes I said yes sir and no sir. My parents weren't trashy and raised me to have some respect.

Your friend's attitude is exactly how we ended up with a nation full of "snowflake" students.

Tell that bitch to mind her own business. Unless she is rich and has you in her will.

Out of all the things to complain about regarding kids. That they are too polite.
