An investigation is underway after photos surfaced on social media depicting a homecoming event at a Kentucky high school where male students partook in a "man pageant."

The male students seen in photos taken at Hazard High School's homecoming week festivities on Tuesday wore scant clothing, including women's lingerie, and gave staff members lap dances in the gymnasium, according to The Courier Journal.

Students and staff reportedly took part in a "Man Pageant" and "Costume Day" on Tuesday, according to Hazard High School's Facebook page.

The photos also showed the students giving a lap dance to Hazard High School Principal Donald "Happy" Mobelini. Mobelini is also mayor of the city.

Other photos removed from the athletics page, where the photos were first posted, showed female students dressed as Hooters waitresses and students and staff reportedly appearing to paddle each other.

My high school had guys dress like girls and girls dress like guys. Freshman did it at homecoming pep rally. Not a big deal.

As I said in the other thread, nothing wrong until the bumping/grinding and lap dancing started.

Kids today just can’t goof off anymore. Part of that is overprotective parents. But the other part is not being cognizant of living in a world with cell phone camera that can instantly upload photos and vids to the internet.

This was all in jest, including the lap dancing. The the second something goes viral, you lose all control over how it is presented.

Now, the narrative is pushed that this was a school-sanctioned sex show. And the principal and many staff members will be (rightly*) fired. And the students will never be allowed to have a program where they can goof and act crazy again.

*If for no other reason than using poor judgment by not getting the show back in line when the students started acting like strippers.

Based on the foregoing, what would make their firing right?

For one thing, that’s the principal (with a big stupid grin on his face) that is being grinded upon by the student in that one photo.

You’re calling into question your judgment as an administrator by not knowing enough than to avoid having your picture taken as part of the show.

So if his picture hadn't been taken, it wouldn't be rightly fireable? If this had happened in the days before social media, when "kids could still goof off" without worrying about "going viral", it would have been okay?
