I don't see a difference in murdering someone for hate or greed. They are both murderers. No one has defended this guy but apparently had he shot them and stolen their wallet he could have covered up the racist angle and just looked like a murderous thief and some would think that's ok.

It would be so much easier to digest if they just admitted it. The truck driver-white man killed while changing a tire during a robbery at gunpoint. Allstate agent- randomly targeted and killed. No uproar, no press conferences-just two men who are all but forgotten by everyone except their families who did nothing to their murderers.

Both of those killers were arrested and charged.
This thread is not about them. It's about this pos and his two victims.

I don't mean to be flippant but I am not expecting an LSU criminologist to blame this on the August 2016 flooding. With this case we will get a very honest analysis of his motives. As we ALWAYS should. Even when that makes us feel bad.
In this case I think we have a combination of a budding serial killer with a very sociopathic personality who also happened to be an unrepentant racist (specifically black people). That fits a very clear profile of killer that America has seen many times. The question is was he more sociopath (skinning neighborhood cats etc) or more of a politically motivated racist cultural warrior . The drive-by shooting of the house with a black family inside would indicate the latter.

It's also quite different from a policing standpoint. Gang or domestic or drug violence isn't random. You know where to look and basically who is at risk. This is random, unpredictable and everybody (in this case, everybody who is black) is at risk. It demands all the attention it can be given. Just as it was in the Derrick Todd Lee case.
