I always laugh when I see this. “But muh brother was a army or navy guy!”

I’m a Marine and I support players rights to protest. Them kneeling has no effect on me or what I did in the military at all.

Hell, while I was in the service I saw more guys run inside before colors came because they didn’t want to stand at attention.

One could argue that buying Nike is a poor use of taxpayer funds considering Nike usually costs significantly more than brands like Champion or Russell.

Why is it the mother frickers who did not serve are the ones crying the most?

This. I'm a vet and idgaf. Just like I didn't gaf when I was at my nana's watching the game and nobody stood up during the anthem.

Also, if you still think Kaepernick is disrespecting the military, you're just dense. You should be boo'd from the conversation.

Channel 6 was camped out in front of Kenner City Hall at 5:45am when I passed on the way to work.

Check their market cap pre-antiWhitePeople campaign and now. I’ll wait. If you even understand what I’m saying—I doubt it since you’re comparing one weekend’s online sales from a year ago to today.

What about it? Down 2/10th of a percent after a week, slightly better than the S&P since the "anti-White people campaign."

I messaged Michelle Lawler, who wrote the memo and got no reply.(msl next to EBZ on signature) This was before it went viral. They should have just said it was fake and it wouldn't have gone viral even if true.
I read the Atlanta paper online to see them talk trash about the Saints and they had this story up.

It's not good press at all, for a city looking to bring in rich young people. (I shite you not that is the city's current agenda)

Yea majority of the country has never heard of Kenner and now this is what they're gonna be known for. Kenner is a small city and if people choose to boycott the city, they're gonna really feel it. This is incredibly stupid for a city that's trying to grow and attract business. Zahn is a fricking idiot.

Wtf is their plan for this? They'd have to almost completely revamp the city (and teach people to enjoy sitting in interstate traffic)

Sorry if already discussed, but do we know if the recreation department was even buying Nike? The playgrounds don't get shite in funding and are ran poorly and I'm guessing the shirt and shorts they give the players are of pretty poor quality.

Let’s get to a real issue.
The Saints fricking suck. Y’all gave up 48 to the Bucs without their starting QB.

I can only imagine what matty ice, Julio, ridley & thunder & lightning will do to you sorry bastards

Dude. This is what all the locals are saying. The incumbents rule on apathy. Only 13% voter turnout for council elections.

The all star cheerleaders were given nike cheer shoes last year. Were told they can't wear them this year.

Not really.

1) I’d say most of Nike’s sales every year spike at the beginning of football season.
2) this Nike backing kneelers stuff started what, 2-3 weeks ago? Hardly enough time to see the damage their decision may or may not have caused.

But don’t let rationale thought get in the way of whatever you are trying to prove.

I don't even see how it's a possibility unless they do a lot more development on the lake (a la West End), and then make a clean way to get to the city quickly.

1) Young people don't care about living on a golf course
2) No one likes sitting in traffic, and not too many wealthy, young people work in Metairie close to Kenner
3) You can only eat so much authentic Mexican and Chinese food
4) Who likes airplane noises?
5) As soon as a party goes late, the cops will show up
6) Nothing south of the interstate is set up for new neighborhoods
7) There are no extracurricular activities in Kenner

In no way do I see it happening

The mayor responded.

quote:

Private, for-profit companies have every right to advertise how they wish, even if it means using advertising to promote corporate political beliefs. Individuals also have every right to support or oppose any company or brand for any reason. Those freedoms should never be lost.
I applaud Nike’s message of inclusion and encouragement for everyone to be their best and dream big. But I also recognize that Nike, in its zeal to sell shoes, chose to promote and sell a political message.

In Kenner, like every city, our citizens and our taxpayers cover a wide spectrum of political philosophies and agendas. We must respect all of those agendas and philosophies. So, when a company uses its advertising as its own political megaphone, government should be fair to all of its people and not allow taxpayer dollars to be used to help that company push its own political agenda.
My decision is only to protect taxpayer dollars from being used in a political campaign. Some have asked if people will be allowed to wear Nike apparel on city playgrounds. The answer to that is … of course.
My internal memo draws the line on letting companies profit from taxpayers by espousing political beliefs. My decision disallowing Nike from profiting from our taxpayers while they are using their powerful voice as a political tool is my message. This government will not let taxpayer dollars be used to promote a company’s or individual’s political position, platform or principle. That’s my position as a matter of fairness to all."
