well shite, no need for an investigation.

There it is, folks

I would be shocked if they actually killed him on purpose

I think there is a chance they behaved poorly, but I think it is a huge leap to think they actually wanted him dead and killed him

I feel very confident to jump to the conclusion the cops didnt murder him on purpose

Where is that spot on the mat?

wasn't targeting you specifically... your post just got caught in the dragnet... which is meant to encompass this whole thread

I doubt they did.

But they almost assuredly used excessive force, which doesn't make it much better.

Ehhh

This is me spitballing here, but this seems tough

You have a guy running from the cops, who is then apprehened. 100% the cops need to be assertive once they get their hands on him

Now, if the guy starts fighting initially, which I would be inclined to beleive anyone running from the cops would, it seems like it would take the cops being physical to subdue him

Once subdued, he likely keeps moving once he starts suffocating, making it difficult for the cops not to mistake it for fighting back more

I usually like to point out when cops behave poorly, but on the surface this type of case seems tough

I don't think anyone said this.

I think what's most likely is that they were pissed he ran so they got a little rough with him and because he was struggling to breathe, they probably though he was still resisting arrest. So they put more pressure on him so he'd give up.

I think the mistake would've been holding too long. If he's not breathing and passes out he won't be fighting anymore. There had to have been a point where they were choking him or whatever after he was passed out and he was never able to start breathing again. Even if you're passed out, your body still knows it needs to breathe.

I don't think anything will come of it, but I guess I wouldn't be completely blindsided if they were indicted. It's hard to judge these things after the fact with rationality when in the heat of the moment, it's so much different.

Really?

You don't think that the guy who fled in a car, wrecked the car, then kept fleeing is more likely to be trying to breath than trying to continue getting away?

We know they suffocated him to death, so suggesting his resistance, at least at the end, was due to be suffocation is pretty sound.

He was probably initially fighting to get away and then eventually fighting to breathe. Like I said, they look the same to the cop.

I really don't understand what issue you have with what I posted other than you're being a little bitch and trying to argue with me.

Define "the end". When they first caught him. When they first had him in a lock? 10 seconds after the lock?

This all sounds very familiar.....

Harris, 22, of Metairie, died of multiple gunshot wounds after deputies Kenneth Bonura and Henry DeJean fired at the car. Sheriff Newell Normand has said the deputies feared for their lives after Harris crashed into a pole and put the vehicle into reverse.

I pray these two deputies are involved in this incident as well

I don't think he was struggling anymore at death.

The point it takes to suffocate someone is past the threshold of proper training. Skinny little unarmed black dude. Poorly trained cops. Careless. And more than likely over aggressive

The method of how they apprehended him will tell a lot. “Injuries to the neck” doesn’t sound great for the cops. We’re likely talking a choke or knee or forearm to the neck.
