Parents need to know what is going with their kids. If your kid is being bullied you need to get involved. Bullied kids make stupid decisions. When my kid was bullied I had a talk with the bully’s dad. I asked him to fix the issue and he did.

This dad can’t make a cohesive argument or explanation when asked if, in retrospect, he would do anything differently. Everybody said, “get a white lawyer”. Blah, blah, blah, that was a mistake.
