I've totally lost track of time nowadays, and failed to realize that a 19 year old nowadays could be young enough that they could be named after the basketball player Carmelo Anthony. (At least I assume that's what Karmelo Anthony is named after.)

Reading through these text messages I came to one conclusion: Karmelo was a scared suburban kid writing his own fanfiction wherein he was a stone cold killer in the making.
Many such cases.
