Watched the doc on MAX the last couple of days. Read isn't a likable person, and her actions, words, and state of mind that morning seem pretty damning, but the evidence IMO shows that something happened to him that did not include him getting hit by her car. The pieces just don't fit. The sketchiness of the witnesses and detectives kind of forces you to believe that there was something else going on there. The unprofessionalism of the detectives was mind-blowing. And it seems like the prosecution was incredibly incompetent, or unprepared at best.

Her defense is awesome though. Those guys and gal know what the frick they are doing.

I haven’t watched this documentary nor do it know KR. I’m not surprised that the documentary showed her in that light. Would not be surprised if they intended it to be that way.

I'm just talking about how belligerent she was the night of, and her indicating that she might have hit him. Casually drinking and driving. Going nuts in Aruba when John was chatting with a family friend. Showing little empathy for O'Keefe or his family.

Haha that is straight out the prosecutions playbook. Yep that was intended.

How do they relate to her potentially murdering her boyfriend? sure they go to her character but do they show she wanted to murder her boyfriend?

one of the jurors in the first trail was a lawyer but was selected as an alternate before deliberation.

Well that juror (who is a lawyer) has now joined the defense team for the second trial.

Yes I did. I specifically responded to the character assignation stuff from the documentary.

Your response that all of that is there but you still don’t find that she committed murder kind of goes to my point that all of that is irrelevant.

You should watch the doc. Karen Read and her team controlled what they said and what access the production crew was given. I'm sure they had a lot of say in what was put out in the doc. She said some things that made you feel really bad for her but she also said some things that were extremely off-putting.

To be fair, the doc was definitely pro Read.. I'm on her side, but you came away not liking her.

I believe he’s saying that despite her sounding crazy, drunk, likely both, it didn’t land for the jury as her sounding like a murderer or otherwise resolve the many questions about what really happened.

List of witnesses (mostly retreads but some new people as well)

List is way too long to list.

This was interesting however

quote:

What to know: Notable additions include Fanning, whom the defense has previously accused of tampering with the jury in Read’s first trial. Prosecutors disputed those allegations and said Fanning, who was part of the team coordinating security at Norfolk Superior Court, had no contact with jurors.

Started last night and only a few episodes in. So far this case is absolute chaos and everyone involved has done some extremely sketchy shite.

Maybe she didnt do it and was framed but the way she has handled it and acted during the documentary is also alarming. She seems to care way more about her image than anything else.

I found it hilarious that when they went to arrest her on the murder charge she was worried about what clothes she was wearing.

I think he was hit in the house from an altercation and then told to gett he hell out...stubbled out then died in yard.

The lack of any empathy over his death after spending 2yrs in that relationship shows her narcissism.
