Cafe Lola, or Hub City?

I have heard rumblings for over a year. Mentioned it when they had the layoff and posters said I was full of it. Time will tell.

Ochsner has been a Kaiser want-a-be!
I worked for them in NorCal for 15years.

We're really heading for a healthcare cliff with 15 million unvaccinated new illegals all needing healthcare meanwhile the industry is consolidating and offering fewer choices and there aren't enough new doctors in the pipeline. Not to mention rising premiums and the destructive effects of Obamacare.

If they try this, the state should step in and file an antitrust lawsuit.

I also hear they treat their providers poorly and from and administrative standpoint prioritize money over patient care (what I hear but who knows)

I can confirm this. I went to an appointment a week ago & they said I had an outstanding balance from 2 years ago and refused to let me see the doctor until it’s paid.

My friend was with KP and hated them. She got another provider. I think Ochsner is the lesser of the 2 evils.

This. KP is what starbucks initially tried. Affluent, healthy areas. They might have considered Louisiana at inception when looking to be the insurance of employers, but now it would be a losing bet. KP functions on the premise that preventative medicine saves money. You cant sell preventative medicine and personal responsibility for ones health in a state known for their roux.

That being said, KP is currently on the hunt for small community systems to acquire. I would imagine more in Virginia, Colorado, Maine, Connecticut maybe Nevada? Definitely not our deep south, country fried, heart disease states.

Unless they get rid of all the middle management, they are just spitting in the wind.

Why did you have a balance from 2 years ago?

Ochsner could really use a change in leadership. That place is being run into the ground.

Agreed but they have tons of new state of the art assets and a lot of revenue

On the flip they have a lot of overhead

Too big for their own britches.
