Tim Tebow gets a lot of undue hatred. I think he’s a good person and a solid role model. I’m not particularly religious, but I always respected him for being honest about his faith and rolling with the punches.

It’s Biblically accurate. There is a certain “movie script” that has to play out before all this can end. I hope me saying “movie script” isn’t blasphemous but my hs educated self can’t be more poetic about it. I’m happy to see the Biblical signs of birth pains showing up. I’m of the opinion enough is enough and the actors in that movie script need to get on with it already.

I don't dislike Tebow. I wish he'd been able to keep playing in the NFL, but don't care about his baseball career. I don't doubt his faith, but wonder if he has doubts about his relationship with Urban Meyer. Didn't Urban tell Tebow something like, God wants you to play at Florida?
Paterno was always thought of as a great man. especially north of the Mason-Dixon line. Every time Penn State played on TV, we got told how he was a saint, that just happened to coach football. Back then teams only played on national TV once or twice a year, so they layed the Paterno story on thick. They told us how long he'd been an assistant at Penn State, and how dedicated he was to his players, and the University.
In the late 1979, when asked if he was thinking about retirement, Paterno said he "Wasn't ready to give up the game to the Barry Switzers and Jackie Sherrills of the world."
Like he was above those guys because of his reputation, clean living, nerdy looks, or something. It was like he was saying the Big 10 coaches were more than salesmen who get down in the sh*t, and recruit players like those Big 8, and SEC coaches do. A good bit of the national media agreed with him, and whole Big Ten probably did too.
Bet Paterno's family wishes he had retired at the end of the 70's.
