I stand firm to the fact I’m not going to pay someone to be able to shop in their store.

Glad I live in Texas with plenty of HEBs.

Could not agree more.

I'm totally comfortable paying a little more to support stores that are pleasurable to go into. Even more if they're locally owned.

You also have to guage the crowd waiting for those rotisserie chickens to be put on the counter. Sometimes it's like a bunch of wild dogs circling around it's prey when the cooking timer goes off.

One time a woman had 18 chickens in her basket. I struck up a conversation with her & said, it looked like they were gonna have a party. "No, it's a funeral," she said. She was understanding about it but I felt bad & apologized to her.

We do that too. We get most of our household goods at Costco (trash bags, laundry detergent etc). Occasionally, I'll go grab some steaks, and they also carry meat that's sort of hard to find elsewhere.

I have bought tires and auto batteries there several times as well. We might go once per month.

with the amount of milk & bread I buy, it’s worth it

I usually go weekday mornings to Costco but I needed milk before tomorrow.

We can't really buy anything in bulk that has a shelf life. We just won't eat it fast enough. It's just me and my wife most of the time these days. We have a 17 yr old with a car, school and a job, so she's never home.

But we save enough on the stuff we buy to easily justify the annual membership. Last time I bought tires for my truck they were $200 cheaper there than everywhere else I looked.

Next time buy the Mexican Street Corn Dip.

It’s worth the trip all by itself.

100% make sure to go back when they have the seasonal jalapeno cranberry dip. It's shockingly good.

I am confused now. I have always seen on here how Costco was better than Sams. Now it is the other way around.

Costco > Sam's, just on product selection alone.

Yeah, I try to avoid the mega stores unless the price is just absurdly different or they're the only place to get something without ordering it. Sadly, that's a lot more common in smaller towns like where I often am visiting my mother since so many of the locally owned shops have closed down.

Most of us here do a lot of waxing poetic about missing this America:

Yet, constantly choose this one:

It’s sure as hell much better than the trashy Sam’s in this area

Costco is a cult atmosphere for sure. We have a membership, but got to sams more often. Same items are usually cheaper and sams has better hours.

Sam's has more junk food and the scan and go App.

Costco has more organic and healthier options but higher prices with longer check out.

Not shocking the Fatties love Sams,
