(Dear Facebook)

Flashing school zone lights, multiple crossing guards, all other cars stopped...doesn't matter. This woman clearly didn't give a shite and just drove right on through the crosswalk.

People like this are complete shite.

That crap pisses me off.

My kid is grown now, but I still drive through school zones like my child is there.

Florida or our county passed a law you can’t use a mobile device in a school zone or something like that. I can’t remember.

Needless to say you can’t even pull your phone out in the drop off line. So waiting while parked for your kid to get out, can be like a $300 ticket. They’ve gotten pretty strict and are just warning people right now but in 2020 they are going to start dropping the bomb. No more Facebook while in line to pick up Brayden.

Women are typically bad drivers. Couple that with, they're trying to get their kids off to school, they're running late getting to work, it's early morning (most women are not morning people), a cell phone, and you have a very dangerous situation.

It means my kid is now a grown adult. Something your incredibly stupid arse might consider becoming some day.

I still drive through school zones like I still have a child in that school zone.

distracted, what was so important
that you had to see
to risk your young son’s safety
and take our daughter from me

you and I, forever connected
in this tragic mystery
what was so important
that you had to see

left with “I love you daddy”
should have come home to me
what was so important
that you had to see

the pain we suffer
wouldn’t wish on an enemy
what was so important
that you had to see

to understand and forgive
to be with her we pray
it will then be unimportant
what you didn’t see that day...

Whoa now. A recent study shows women are turning into good drivers.

So consider this your warning if you’re a good driver.

We had 2 people hit in a crosswalk at the beginning of last year and several very near misses. I’ve gotten out of my car before the bang on the window of someone right as I saw them moving while a child was in the crosswalk. The 2 cops in charge of school zone traffic in our area know me by name and phone number because I called requesting they monitor the school zones daily. Finally starting standing in the median recording people as they did this and it’s amazing how that was what got the situation under control. Nothing else worked.

People are incredibly selfish, and don't give a shite. It's not a school zone, but I see people hauling arse through parking lots as well. I mean going probably 40 mph or so. There is no universe where that is a safe thing to do. Especially in a school zone where kids are known to dart out in the road before thinking.
