Just put in my longest day of work ever

Just got done. Nothing impressive by any means (people work this much every day) and I’m not as tired as I should be. But still feel odd.
Logged in at 8:30AM and logged off at 12:45 so that’s a little over a 16 hour day.

You’ll be tired in a bit. I usually have a 16-18 hour day a couple of times a year and it takes me an hour or so to get to bed after I get home.

I once worked a 15 hour day and then went to a rave at the State Palace and rolled all night, and then went straight to work and worked an 11 hour day.

There's an energy reserve available. You gain access to it when a need is present. When you tap into it and draw from that source, shutting down and resting becomes an exercise unto itself.

I do it fairly often. I’m actually on call now and just hate to fall asleep then get callin .

Good for you. You don’t get anywhere in life if you don’t push the boundaries once in a while.

I put in my shortest day. I might have worked 6 hours. Work is slow. My boss gave us extra PTO since we may not have enough work to stay open. Once April 30 comes, he will have to make some tough decisions.

Not bad. But Tuesday (3/31) is a holiday, at least where I am, so I got paid 8 hours of holiday pay. But I also worked 16 hours that day (7:30 am to 12:30 am, with an hour lunch). So for 3/31 I'm going to be paid for 24 hours, with 16 of them OT hours.

When I first started working in a plant I would routinely work 16+ hour shifts. It does a number on your mind and body. I once worked a 23 hour shift. We had paper timesheets then and boss told me to just spread my time out so I wouldn’t have any day showing I worked more than 16 since it’s an OSHA violation. I was young and dumb. Won’t ever do that again

No doubt.
I was awake for like 40 hours straight once then had to make myself go to sleep, once I fell asleep I slept for like 12 hours uninterrupted though.

If you get it far enough in, it will tickle your tonsils.
Or so I've heard...

Never public accounting? That would be a normal day right about now

It’s not really accounting. More finance-ish. Clients come to us to price their investment vehicles they sell. It’s really a bastardizatjon of a lot of things e ding ina lot of hard work and not a damn thing to show for it... hopefully I am only doing this another year. Promotion is on the table and I told them I would almost certainly except once they tell me comp change..... that was 3 weeks ago.
