Welcome back baw, I disagree with groceries being high but depends where you came from. The people are great! I run into people almost every day that moved here or seeing family and all they wanna talk about is how good the food is and how nice the people are.

That's the rona... normally food prices here are very reasonable... now the sales tax on food blows...

Which makes it high. It's not that hard a concept

It's like 4-5 percent... that's not enough to make something "high"
If I'm paying $2.99 for a pack of water at Sams in Katy, or $3.11 for a pack of water at Sams (after tax) in NOLA, that's not something I would say is high...
$4-5 on a $100 grocery bill...

The humidity is so bad. I’ve been back visiting since last week. Ran around the lakes last night and dried off then went to the store and I was pouring sweat down my face

What part of LA? I've always thought the prices as a whole for groceries in the NOLA area was comparable to other areas I've visited, outside of sales tax.
I'm in Dallas area often and groceries seem to be much cheaper there. A gallon of milk can be had for about $2.50 or so. A dozen eggs are $1.39... sometimes $.99 on sale. This is at Kroger.

The Rona has a lot of grocery prices inflated right now, particularly meat.
