Every time I’m at a person over 50’s house, the tv is on, and the volume is up to normal viewing level, and we have to talk over the tv.

Should we not old people start shaming old folks for this?

Par for the course with your typical threads and posts, though.

You eventually get to a point where the news is more important than net porn.

No, it’s always a standard fricked-out sitcom.

I’m betting the tv isn’t on CNN, hence your disdain..

Nah, I’m not stupid enough to watch cable news.

My FIL is 83 and always leaves the TV on and the volume on high. I'm constantly turning it down.

Yeah, I know. Kinda like having a conversation with people that are texting. Do they ever turn off their phones?

I am 61. The last time I turned on my TV was when Hurricane Harvey drowned Houston. The time before that was about 25 years ago. My house temperature is 68.

You can't turn it on if you never turn it off.

This is a stupid thread.

Good god, right? I go to my parents and it’s 78 degrees. I can’t even sleep there without a good fan blowing on me.

And then when my mom comes over to my house she’ll complain it’s freezing.

I pay the bills, I control the thermostat, and i’m gonna enjoy top quality AC while i can.

ETA
I wonder how I dealt with it growing up. I remember always liking to sleep with a fan.

It’s stifling now that i’ve Lived the life of 71 degrees.

That’s a damned good TV. What brand?
