My wife keeps the TV or radio on most of the time. She likes the noise. I enjoy the silence sometimes

Good god, right? I go to my parents and it’s 78 degrees. I can’t even sleep there without a good fan blowing on me.

And then when my mom comes over to my house she’ll complain it’s freezing.

My mom keeps her house at like 77 too. It's miserable. She brings a sweater when she comes to mine.

Mine is like that, too, whereas I would rather silence most of the time. Brother is the worst, though. He has to have on some obnoxious shite during holiday dinners where everyone is subjected to whatever stupid MTV-type trash he has on.

I don’t mind letting nature documentaries play in the background. Although if you play them on YouTube sometimes you wind up with weird shite.

I personally enjoy being lulled to sleep by the dulcet tones of David Attenborough.

If I am home and in the living room area I have the TV on. I like having the sound on.

It has been off except for those two times. The time 25 years ago was to watch the Thanksgiving parade. I don’t watch much TV. I didn’t even own one for about 20 years.

Parents keep theirs at 82. I have to go outside and take a break.

Leave my parents alone. They don’t approve of your lifestyle

I realize we’ve been completely spoiled with AC, but how can they be more comfortable at 82 than with something in the 70s?

Why would we shame them for it...they are old. Let them have their peace you a-hole.
