We didn't need a selective service to win the most important wars. A great majority in WW2 signed up because they want the shame of being drafted and made fun of.
They had the draft as early as the civil war and it was frowned upon on both sides. It is a bout the individual making those decisions and not the government making them for you.

I’ve thought that women should have to sign up for selective service ever since the Military started letting women fill Combat Arms jobs.
Just like I think Military folks should be able to shower with people they are attracted to since they stopped the Don’t ask, Don’t tell and allowed gays and lesbians to openly serve.
I was in the Army when they repealed DADT. We had to get briefings and training on how to be non discriminatory and inclusive of openly gay and lesbian soldiers. I personally don’t give a shite who someone is attracted to. I just wanted to know if a straight soldier could start showering with people they are attracted to since gay and lesbians could.
I got scolded for that. I told them I didn’t think it was fair.
