I've always been afraid of the boat sinking or getting hijacked.

We used to take our casino gamblers on 7 day cruises out of LA or San Diego. I went 4 or 5 times, never had a bad time. Of course most of the people that went were regulars at the casino and I had come to know them pretty well so we had fun. We also got free drinks inside the casino which helped.
I can't tell you how many of these I ate each time.

Yeah they do, last and only time I will ever go on Carnival I was in the gym using the treadmills when a huge family of them came into the gym. Definitely not gym users, they proceeded to go to the infinity lap pool with their multiple plates of buffet food each and use it as a Jacuzzi. Worldstar was up in that bitch when the cruise staff had to round up a bunch more workers to get them out of the gym.
This was a free cruise for me because it was a planned family trip, I am now with the guy earlier who said he wouldn't take one even if it is free. I'd give serious thought if it was Disney, Celebrity, or even the old folks home Holland America, but never Carnival again.

Disney food is good. Not great but good. The upcharge places on the ships are as good as anything you will find in New Orleans.
What?

You know you are really poor when you start knocking cheap cruises.

Disney Cruises seem to be legit.

I was 100% against cruises till last year when the SO talked me into going for 7 days in a Norweigan cruise ship. Went to the Carribean and it wax, by far , my list enjoyable vacation I've ever had. Not dirty at all , people or ship. Best thing? Drive 30 minutes from home , parked , walked on ship , had a great 7 days , walked off ship , drove 30 minutes home. No long road trips , no hotels , no arguing where to eat 3 times a day for a week, no gas , etc. it was awesome.

Don't live in Nashville anymore or new resident to Nashville?

Not in Nashville any longer. Moved to Tampa after getting engaged. She owns 3 funeral homes in the area so I made the move.

Makes more sense, not much ocean in Nashville.
My biggest gripe about cruises is I don't like to relax on vacations. I like to explore and see things. Time at ports is way too short to really see much of a place, even when you don't go with the strictly controlled ship excursions. I get twitchy being stuck on a boat. I deal a bit better on the bigger ships that have more to do, but just isn't what I like to do for vacation. My wife loves cruises though.

I used to feel like you about cruises. After doing it , it changed my mind. I still like destination vacations but the ease of a cruise vacation is awesome to me. And tbh I could have not taken a step off the ship all 7 days (we got off at 4 ports) and it still would rank of my best vacation experiences

What did that run ya?
$57 per day per person. Total was $798 for the duration of the cruise. Another benefit on Royal Caribbean is not every person in the room HAS to get the beverage package and different people can get different packages. There's one that doesnt include mixed or frozen drinks which I thought about getting, but I know once a day I'm good for a Mohito and a margarita sitting by the pool...a glass of wine with dinner and two beers throughout the day and it's breakeven. Anything more than 5 drinks a day average and you're coming out ahead.

he is saying that the places you can pay extra for on Disney Cruise Line (Palo and Remy) are outstanding....and they are. Without question, the best brunch I have ever had.

I was on the Carnival Dream when this happened in the middle of the night. It was crazy, everyone was all panic about letting them on the ship.
