All the assessors in the River Parishes (esp. in St. Charles) were crowing about how much they re-assessed the petrochemical companies.

At some point, there will be a buyer and hopefully it’s soon so employees and contractors can hang on. It’s definitely an asset and Shell knows when COVID relents and travel resumes, they’re going to be able to make more money on it.

yeah this is a bad sign for the "what are they going to do if we tax them? shut down?" crowd

Buddy that works there said they don't really want to sell. They want to sit on it for a few year's and see if the market rebounds.

Devastating loss for the area. The article mentions 700 Shell employees and 400 contractor jobs being lost. 1100 well paying jobs up in smoke.

Not surprised considering things in O&G plus the business climate in Louisiana is never good even if O&G is good.

I believe they hope to relocate about 1/5 of the 700 to TX. Will see if they make the move or find another job in Louisiana.

Meanwhile you have this group of people getting in the way of a nearly 10 billion dollar investment into St. James Parish at Formosa Plastics

Not even close unless you’re only looking at the downstream side of oil & gas

Democrats pushing oil out.

Wish y’all would cut this shite out.

Oil won’t be pushed out in our lifetimes. Maybe not even our kids. There’s WAY too much money across the world for one man and a bartender to cripple The industry. They’ll both be shot to death before their bottoms lines are taking such a cut it destroys their business.

They’ll talk all that shite during election time and then it’s going to magically go away.

Switching from Thanks Obama to Thanks Biden already. That's fair I guess.
