Devastated?

So what will she be when you actually have a real problem to deal with?

Read my above post...and secondly, I think a wedding is every woman’s dream. The fairytale wedding isn’t necessarily my cup of tea, but credit to her, she planned about 90% of it. She worked hard while planning, did a damn good job of budgeting (amidst my botching) and took care of things I would have never thought to do. Yeah...she has a right to be ‘devastated.’

I got mixed up and thought Ted2010 was OP. Nothing wrong with being disappointed just suggesting it's not worth getting devastated and being miserable over. Admittedly I'm biased against expensive ceremonies. Too many new couples put themselves in a hole throwing a big ceremony when they should be establishing a financial foundation. Money issues are #1 cause of divorce in America yet we have people going in debt for lavish parties.

A hot spot for a virus that only kills old people? I’m sure I’ll get downvoted into oblivion, but let’s do some math.

Population of Texas: 29,000,000

Total deaths from covid: 2,362

Divide that up... 0.00008144827

Feel for you man. It’s easy for people to make jokes and say it’s not a big deal, but it is. Wife and I got married in January so we got lucky. She’d have been devastated if we had to deal with this.

Awwwww your story book wedding didn't happen? Frowny face. My wife's job cut her salary by 50% and cut her retirement completely. That's not to mention trying to figure out child care since we are both essential. Grow the frick up.

Well, you know what they say....

God forbid they be upset over having to cancel what would have been a significant and sentimental day in their lives.

This is the real problem

The ceremony should not be that valuable, especially when you think about what marriage is and is for

Huh? What inspired this melt? That my wife I got married? You realize you can have a second marriage and enjoy family activities right? I’m not the OP. I was responding to the post he made. So I’m confused as to your melt here.

You should do a riot themed wedding and then you would be in the clear.

Our plan was to have a small wedding with about 25 people at my best friend's parents house. They bought an early 19th century plantation home and completely remodeled/restored it.

The venue was free but we started planning everything else and decided we didn't want to deal with the hassle. We went to Vegas and got married instead, just the two of us. No regrets.
