What if you call it a protest so everyone is safe?

My cousin is on her 3rd date and it’s looking like the wedding will be postponed again. It sucks for them

Awwwww your story book wedding didn't happen? Frowny face. My wife's job cut her salary by 50% and cut her retirement completely. That's not to mention trying to figure out child care since we are both essential. Grow the frick up.

Someone struck a nerve...

Devastated?

So what will she be when you actually have a real problem to deal with?

eta: is hyperbolic speech just the norm these days? When I hear devastated I think of some serious shite going down, not a rescheduled date of a wedding

Somehow you were able to out douche the post you were trying to ridicule. Take a lap a-hole.

I felt the same way when I was headed to Vegas and they decide to shut the buffets down. Worst day of my life.

You’ll be so much happier with that money instead of a night you barely remember from all the alcohol and small talk, and the cute video you pay $5,000 for

The sad part is almost all of it was paid for. We are able to reschedule with the venue and vendors thankfully. I would have opted for a courthouse wedding from the get go.

2nd time this summer. It went from June 11 to July 2. We said frick it and we are still gonna get married in a small celebration here at home. The future wife is devastated. She planned most of it. I feel like shite, but our county (Nueces) is a hot spot and so is San Antonio. It’s the right decision obviously. But damn, this shite never ends. This summer continues to suck.

That sucks and all but.. and I’m actually being serious here for once... but eloping or intimate small wedding is the way to go. There’s so much pressure - societal and familial - to have the big wedding and it’s such a waste.

Like I’ve told my wife, “this better work out bc rest assured I’m never going through another wedding again”

That sucks. I hope when you do get to have it, it’s a special day anyway. Best wishes to you and your fiancée for a lifetime of love and happiness!

Maybe just wait until she's pregnant with your second kid?

Yep. My wife and I had to change our plans. We had a big wedding planned in an awesome venue. Covid shut it down. We thought about about waiting until next year. But we decided to do a very small ceremony with our parents and kids attending (second marriage for us both) and do a reception type thing for family and friends later on.

Sorry to hear that man. My wedding is early September and I just want to get it out the way at this point.

Get over yourselves. Second marriages, you have kids and this is devastating. Focus on your children and enjoy family activities during this time. Good luck when real adversity strikes if this is bringing you down. I was somewhat sympathetic when I initially read this thinking you were early 20 somethings missing out on your dream day.

God forbid they be upset over having to cancel what would have been a significant and sentimental day in their lives.
“Sorry, you’ve both been married before, this one doesn’t even count and you forfeited you’re rights to feelings in the last divorce.”
And I thought I was a miserable a-hole....

That would be a long wait since I don’t have a first kid...at least not that I know of.

She had many nights as a child where she ate dry ramen for dinner amidst a roach infested apartment while raised by a single mother. She educated herself at a four-year and is doing great at a job she loves doing. She’s faced more adversity than I have.
