quote:Yea, seems like a horrible time to furlough or lay off anyone who works at a hospital that's worth a damn.
So did other people just stop getting sick??
I understand there are no elective procedures going on right now, but if anyone can be used in any capacity at a hospital right now, seems like it'd be a good idea to keep them on just in case.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or what, but just because there is a pandemic going on, doesn't mean you have to be a miserable joyless frick. There's nothing wrong with enjoying life right now, if you can.
Calm down sally

A lot of BS emergency room visits have dried up too.
So you make your living on the welfare recipients that go to the ER for a sniffle?

Please stay home and don't bring your covid to across state lines. Do your part.

My brother is in Industrial Medicine/Urgent care. He tells me the same thing. Thier patient load with the oilfield , physicals, return to work, industrial accidents, DOT Physicals, is about 15% of normal and their load with urgent care patients is down about 60%. They getting a double whammy with the Rona and oilfield being down.

Nope... people have stopped going in in fear of picking up the COVID.

Wouldn't it be great if this continued post-virus?

My buddies wife is a pharm tech at the Baptist hospital in Conway. She and the pharmacist got cut back to like 4, 5 hour days. I did ask if they were giving out hydro chloroquine and she said yes.

have been very impressed with how our hospital admin have handled this.
They have been moving staff around to keep up their hours and prevent having to let anyone go.
My gf works in orthopedics. They have almost 0 patients right now. They told her group they could either go home or help screen the people coming into the hospital.

Do travel nursing - huge demand
They are offering over $9K for 3-weeks work in Chicago with Covid patients - all meals - travel - hotel accommodations paid.
NY contracts were being offered as high as $12K
Good luck!

I've heard of nurse travel contracts for 5k a week in NYC and they put you up in the Four Seasons for free plus travel and meals paid for.
