I'm at work today but we are being sent home until further notice. I can work from home though. Going to be interesting.

You must not work in Louisiana.

Our leadership (who is not even in my region) was adament at least one person from my team show up this week despite the fact that the company I am a contractor for went remote last week. Nobody is in the office, and there's no reason for us to risk taking public transportation to get to work when we can just work from home.

I finally got approval after I went in today and found out someone in my building confirmed positive. It's only a matter of time before it's in every building...

If you have older employees and one of them gets sick at work and dies, it should absolutely be on your head if you delayed letting your employees work remotely

Prove you got it from the office. Also, prove Karen got the flu at work, too.

If multiple people in that office end up with it, the employer is gonna lose that lawsuit.

Leaders who believe in "butts in seats" and "our clients expect to meet us face to face" are the opposite of leaders who make decisions on data.

They're lifelong MLB scouts vs. Sabermetrics.

You absolutely nailed this analogy.

Friend’s wife works in downtown Nola office building. They sent word today that even if confirmed positive case is reported it will be addressed only on a floor by floor basis.

We all have a plan until we are punched in the mouth.

I have been telling my wife this stuff for two weeks, it aint about what you think you should do..it is about the precedents being set by others in your position. You can think all the shite you want to, but if you are the only employer making your folks come to work and one of em gets sick just out of bad fricking luck...then wham, there goes all your shite.

We're in a regional office separated from headquarters but our entire office has the capacity to work remotely and individuals often do based on individual circumstances. Seems like the big boss is taking the traditional approach to all this. Not sure if its the right thing to do or cavalier to basically wait until something happens to potentially change anything.

Do you have more then 10 people in your office? If you do you can mostly likely expect to work from home as the administration does not want any gatherings of 10 or more people.

Our buildings been maybe 10% full since last Monday. We constantly have people flying all over the place so after 3 had to quarantine based off where they had been, company encouraged most to work from home.

Decided we better try to have one person from each team in the office, and that would keep everyone plenty far away. Told my gf I volunteered to be in the office until it’s back to normal since the other guys all have small kids. Truth is tho she’s constantly around sick people at the hospital and last thing I want is to be cooped with her all day when she’s working nights lol

Plus it’s pretty awesome working in a large, empty building. I can get stuff done without distractions, don’t have to directly interact with any bosses or higher ups

I’m just waiting for that to happen. I wonder if they’ll shut down office buildings.

Somewhere in the near future a Baby Boomer manager is going to die from Coronavirus because telecommuting is for slackers.

Irony.
