Just got a call from a recruiter at my work desk phone

This lady calls saying she's looking for someone with my experience to fill in a spot with her company, etc. I'm caught totally off guard as I have no idea how this person got my desk number. After telling her I'm not interested, she asks me if I know anyone I work with would be interested. Just wow. This ever happen to anyone? Seems risky to even entertain these calls at work

We have head-hunters calling the facilities looking for therapists 24-7.

Happened to me last week. I think they call the main number and ask to be transferred to you.

Obviously don't put it on speakerphone, but why would that be risky? You didn't seek her out, and you didn't ask for this, so might as well see what she has to offer. If your company thought they could replace you with someone cheaper with zero lost productivity, they would.

Not unheard of. A co-worker got a call from one recently. I receive the emails, too.

Yes. The field I am in most of the time my name was given by client to head hunter. Most clients just call my office so that is the number given out. Freaks me out when I get those calls.
