Yep, same thing with all of them. That's why I liked Dish's two year price lock. I figure by the time that is up cable TV with either be a la carte or cutting the cord will be way easier and I can drop them.

Its really not that bad. They're way smaller than they used to be and they can usually mount them on a low profile. We also have a little alcove in our roof line that we got them to put it behind so you can't even see it from the street and its on the opposite side of our garage so we never even see it. Three on the other hand is a different story. What the hell would you even need three for?

There are a few caveats, though. If you have a friend with a cable provider that doesn't mind you mooching off his login information that helps. That's why I try not to sound so high and mighty about it because without my buddy's login, I wouldn't get Watch ESPN or any PBS or Disney Jr. shows for my daughter.
And having people that don't mind sharing logins for Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, Hulu Plus and HBO Now is also key.

Ive had Cox when living in BR and never had an issue. I wish Charter would hurry and run the lines to my new house. Wife and I hate Direct Tv. Only option we have had for 3 years is direct TV
Direct TV Pro: - Genie box is nice for DVR
- price has stayed relatively the same for the 3 years and not hard to haggle new price but its never as low as before
Con: - misty/rainy = no signal. This has gotten better in the last year but i do most of my tv watching when i cant be outside
- Receivers are SLOW and freeze a lot. $100 if i want them to come fix or replace boxes.
- SEC network isnt on my current package, got to pay for a package up to get it.

I have the Genie in the living room and the smaller boxes in the kid's rooms. They're not slow at all and we did the $7.99 a month protection plan that covers all equipment. We have a mid-level tier with the SECN so that's not an issue. Maybe the satellite signals are worse in less populated areas? We must have talked to at least a dozen people in our neighborhood that have it and they all said they never lose signal. I guess it's just all about location?

I agree that it was easy, but I had a couple of things that held me back: 1) my wife is worse than a caveman when it comes to technology, and I had nightmares thinking about having to explain to her how to use a firestick or apple tv to watch TV. If its not press one button and you're watching TV she is like a 2 year old playing with a rubik's cube 2) the only password i'd be able to share is HBO, so I'd have to buy Sling for $20/month, add the sports package for $5/month, and Hulu for $8 per month.
So my choices were cut the cord and pay $33/month or go with Dish for $50/month. IMO the features and convenience of having the hopper was well worth the extra $17.

-I've had Dish for a month and the only time it lost signal was during the hellscape of a storm the day after the McNeese "game".
-The Hopper is lightening fast and has not frozen once since I've had it. I have heard that DirecTV had problems with some of their older receivers, but the new ones are supposedly great.
-SEC Network is in the basic package for Dish.

I had DirecTV for a number of years.... I never really had much of an issue with them. I found their customer service exceptional ( always willing to work with you re: issues), I really never had any issues with rain and my signal. The only reason I don't have them now is because I recently moved to Prairieville and I'm trying out EATEL.
Now that AT&T owns DirecTV, I'll be anxious to see how that progresses..... when I had AT&T for Internet and phone it was a headache.
On a side note, I never plan to give Cox Communications another penny of my money......

That's what people told me beforehand so when my guy showed up we had a nice talk about everything before he started. The signal was set up and has been at 100% since installation.

It's not even close even with Cox's Contour box. I couldn't believe how much better the Genie thing is and the ability to seamlessly record and watch in any room is nice.

The Cox boxes we had were terrible. They kept blaming it on the signal coming to the house but hey replaced and boosted that thing 4 times in the last few years and I would still get some fuzzy channels in the higher numbers.

this is a recent issue we have been experiencing. Press guide or menu and nothing happens for up to 30-60 seconds. Same thing with typing in a channel. when we FF or RR sometimes it wont stop when we press stop and it goes for another 30-60 seconds. Box in my room is unresponsive once it is turned on. have to get up and unplug it at least 2 times a week
its the same equipment we have had since 2012 that may be why. Almost at the point of getting rid of it and Charter isnt making any moves to my area lately so it may be Dish that i try next

But, once those DirecTV discounts go away, you're butt is going to get sore and you'll want to change.
Get an over the air HD antenna to mount in your house and you can catch CBS, NBC, FOX, ABC for all football games.

Been with Directv since 2005, and I don't think I will ever change. First, I don't want the hassle of having to learn new channel numbers. I know ESPN is 206 and SECN is 611. 
After seeing the HD quality of other providers, I will keep my Directv, even if it's an inflated price. I just call them every August to get discounts and free Sunday Ticket Max

I HATE DIRECT TV.
Have had it since 2007; you would think older members would get treated well? No. We have to call and argue about the bill every other month, it seems. And the cost is outrageous. $180/month for TV, not including anything else. I want to change so bad because I only watch about 2-3 channels max, but I choose my battles.
Like someone else said, it still goes out all the time in bad weather. I look forward to my trash reality TV on the DVR--and when I finally get to watch it seems that 25% of the time there was a rainstorm while recording therefore it's all messed up.
