We did Disney out of Galveston and it wasn't trashy at all.
We are doing Royal Carribbean out of Galveston this summer.

On 4 Carnival Cruises, I have not seen a single fatty on a scooter. The ship isn't conducive to scooters.
Honestly, I've never even seen anyone that is so big they need a scooter. Unlike Disney World.

Go have a blast. I love cruising. Just let loose and don't be concerned about what others are doing.
Decent food, great drinks, amazing views, decent entertainment around. Live music. This is all why I love to cruise. Not to mention being able to get off the ship and go to some good beaches.
