Yeah, that’s a real head scratcher, right.
Ironically, President Trump decided to retroactively ban bump stocks that were purchased legally to make it a felony to own them with no just compensation, not even a return of tax dollars. Apparently the US government was a willing participant in collecting money from “illegal” purchases. Sets a terrible precedent for the next president to use to be able to say all ARs or any other firearm is now illegal and it will be a felony to own them and the government will not even pay to buy them back. That shooting and decision by President Trumps administration sent the 2nd Amendment supporters into a dangerously bad position. Strange that a gun lover like Paddock and a states’ rights President Trump started the complete erosion and eventually the ultimate demise of the right to keep arms. It’s almost universally acknowledged that if Paddock hadn’t used a bumpstock he probably would have been much more accurate and killed even more people.

You do realize that very few serial killers have a motive, right? Like someone else said, some people just want to kill, they are nuts, no motive needed... I will never understand how some people let politics completely rot their brain, on both extremist sides of the fence. I'm a middle grounder. I want gay, married couples to be able to protect their homes with AR15s?!? Actual freedom, not freedom with an agenda... I could never be gay, but what they do is none of my business.

He wasnt a serial killer. He was a mass murderer. He had a motive. Likely that only he knew it or more likely that he just decided "frick it" and decided to plan and go through with the shooting. Maybe even just wanting to be infamous.
The FBI were also the ones searching for a white van and a lonely, single white male during the DC sniper investigation. Long story short, they dont know everything even when they report and suggest they do.

Ok if you want to split hairs, most serial killers commit murders for their own sense of sexual pleasure due to the feeling of power they gain over their victim. I guess you can call that a motive... My point is, the idea that he has no "motive" so it must be this huge false flag conspiracy, is ridiculous. The dude was nuts, he shot up a bunch of people, thats the reality. No one is murdering a bunch of people to take "mah guns". I have guns, no one is going to take them, and I don't constantly obsess over the idea that everyone is out to get me, that sounds like a sad, pitiful existance...

I think we all know what that is. The investigators didn't like the facts they found. That this was done by multiple people and was done by muslim supporters. Anyone that believes the narrative that this was done by one person is so stupid I really don't know how they function in the modern world.

Do we ever really know what the motive of any mass shooter is?
I mean we can all figure out a motive when husband comes home and guns down a Jody.
Otherwise, just pointing a gun a shooting innocent people in masses, just isn't rational and trying to create a rational motive as to why can be basically impossible.

That is the sad simple truth. Ultimately, he was a coward and killed himself, and the only person who knows his real motive is him.
