The coldest night in Chicago in probably a decade. It was cold as frick. I was back home in Michigan when this happened. It was -26 windchill where I was at, even colder where he was at. Nobody is out walking to get a subway sandwich when it is even near that cold. Dumbest night he could have picked.

I think that's why he picked it. Cold so there would be no witnesses.
Also, do we know which subway he supposedly went to? There's a bunch in the loop, but only a few are even open 24 hours.
