She identified far too much with the interview subject and looked like she was about to start crying with him.
There was a deliberate reason she got the interview to begin with and I’m sure she was given a list of things that “due to the ongoing investigation” that he could not address at that moment.

Exactly as most here predicted her response to be. Blame it on something else for her not doing her job.

Black lesbian interviews black homo about alleged anti-black/anti-gay hate crime. This was ABC's wet dream

Hey Robin....how about you do your job and get your own answers from the person you're interviewing and not rely on the police.....
Blame Jussie for lying to you instead of blaming the police..

Trust us, we're the media! Asking us to follow rudimentary journalism standards taught in freshmen college classes is an attack on journalists!

Roberts said “police often say something publically” but have other theories behind the scenes.
It seems as if she is cutting the legs out from under her own attempted justifications.
I'm saying this as someone who like Roberts.

No, I just think this will play out like the other 200 fake instances.

I think people are expecting this to he different when we all know it'll be the same.
I don' tknow about that. This case is a bit different considering "it" "happened to" a celebrity. The other instances "happened to" nobodies. And, with this on the heels of the Covington Catholic fiasco, perhaps we may actually see something change/give. Do I have high hopes for that? No, but I think it's possible.

The accusers and the ones shouting so loudly about the accused's guilt will apologize with a voice about a tenth as loud.
That second part is highly likely, but Smollett will likely take a huge hit.

What you’ve got to realize is, she sincerely thought he was telling the truth. Like I said, she was given this interview for a reason. Not only are they both homosexuals and AA, they’re very likely friends.
Her friend made an arse out of her.

Look, this was merely a fluff piece designed to give upper middle class liberal stay at home moms social media fodder. There's still some odd premise whereby everyone assumes morning shows are apolitical and the last bastion of non-biased reporting.

Well, I hope no one thinks that about GMA.
George Stephonopoulousousoiuousos is the lead anchor of GMA and was Bill Clinton's press secretary. He also had to apologize on air during the last presidential campaign for donating money to Hilary Clinton and not releasing that information to viewers.

It is hard to believe this thread is still going on. Jussie probably never imagined this story gaining this much traction. It honestly makes me mad that he did all of this. I hope his career is over... Crazy thing is, if he was smarter on how he planted this story, I too, could've believed him.
If he would've came out and just said, I was jumped by 2 guys in Chicago, I would have 100% believed him.
If he said I was jumped, and I think they beat me because I'm gay. I possibly could have believed that. I have known some folks who would flat-out say they hate gay people. I had a friend of mine from one of the Carribean Islands who said that back in his home country, if someone was found out to be gay, they were at risk for getting beat up or jumped.
If he said he was beat up by 2 white guys for being black. I would be less inclined to believe him, just because Chicago. Chicago is one of the most dangerous cities in the U.S. White folks not going around looking for black people to mess with. It is definitely the other way around.. If he was in some back-woods country town in the south somewhere where there is not a single black family in the whole town, and everyone's grandfather talks about the 50s and 60s as the good ole days, then who knows maybe I could possibly believe him there as well.
But the story of him being jumped, in Chicago, freezing cold weather, 2 white guys, wearing MAGA hats, carrying a rope, carrying Bleach, screaming "This is MAGA country fa**ot."... WTF that just didn't sound believable at all. Me and other black folks I knew all said the story sounded fishy, but wouldn't comment on it further than that. It really feels like he just tried to hit as many buzz words as possible in order to score up as many victim points as possible.

That one still blows me away. He gives 25k to the Clinton campaign, only discloses it when busted, then ABC keeps him on as one of their head election "journalists". That would've ruined someone in his position 30 years ago.

I mean is it surprising to see a fake news journalist BFF with someone who created fake news?
