Why? Old pics are awesome. I mean, Juneteenth itself is a giant lie, but it be what it be. Slavery didn’t end in the Indian territories for a few moar years Downvoted for facts? Dammmmnnnnnn.

Do you also call Christmas a giant lie?

Thanksgiving?

Or is Juneteenth the holiday you’ve circled to call a “giant lie” because of reasons?

The one on the front left looks like a carbon copy of Teddy Roosevelt!

Thank you Jesus for freedom! Slavery was a worldwide evil then and sadly now too! Thanks for posting.

Pay attention to where the massive upswing starts.

So ignore the 1920s? Got it.

Possibly NSFW
quote:

What kind of fool supposes the North is any less racist?

Randy Newman didn’t believe the North was less racist. He made the case they were more so and hypocritical as well. He’s quite the lyrical polemicist it seems.

[Be warned: Newman’s lyrics and frequent use of an offensive racist term to make his point is possibly NSFW and currently beyond the pale of generally acceptable discourse and discussion. Despite that, every recording artist should have unfettered license to lyrically express themselves and their point of view. All artists should have that freedom of expression. Anything less is censorship.]

From his masterpiece album Good Old Boys-Randy Newman’s scathing musical indictment of racism in general and
Liberal hypocrisy in particular- Rednecks.

“We got no-necked oil men from Texas.
Good old boys from Tennessee.
College men at LSU,
went in dumb, come out dumb too,
hustling ‘round Atlanta in their alligator shoes,
getting drunk every weekend at the barbecues,
and _____ ______ ___ _______ ____.”

[Chorus]

Could you imagine getting a time machine and asking a black woman from that era to come back with you.

Then you ask her to twerk to Wet arse Pussy?

Our society has absolutely gone to complete shite, and quickly.

To be fair, if you brought someone from the 1900s to current and asked them to do the macarana or the cupid shuffle, it would be just as awkward.

I like to dress nice from time to time, but maybe we should be careful about what we want to glorify from the time period though. Let's not act like there were no societal ills in the early 1900s. Jim Crow laws come to mind.
