They simply don't understand the suicidal person's thinking. They've never experienced it or spoken with those who've survived and can express how illogical their thinking had become.

I knew a guy who jumped off the Huey P. Long in New Orleans on Super Bowl Sunday, 2009. I had just seen him that previous Friday night. He seemed fine. Nobody had a clue.
How’d he fare?

(He might be okay, well, not now.)

I came across this thread while searching for any information about my cousin. I live in Savannah. He, Braxton, lived in Donaldsonville. We are hurting. As of tonight, his body has not been recovered. This thread deepens a wound that will never heal. Sometimes it takes for tragedy to come knocking at one's door for him/her to understand what another is going through.

Log off now. You won’t find any comfort here. A few are assholes. Most just aren’t looking at from your perspective. Sorry for your loss, but it’s probably better if you forget about this place.

I’m sorry about your loved one. It’s always difficult to know what others struggle with and your post is a reminder of the need to be compassionate instead of being snarky in the face of tragedy . I hope your family finds acceptance and peace over time.

Thank you. I understand that a website could never provide comfort, and people can only do what we allow. Thank you to you and those on here that understand in our time. I never thought the tragedy of suicide would hit so close to home.

Thank you. Some of the comments on this thread show me that people on the internet are cruel and demeaning. One day, life will grow them up.
