Poor planning by the banks in the first place?
Banks did way over-hire insuring Covid. But I don’t think that’s the full answer. Teams are way smaller now than they used to be pre Covid.
The simple thing is that, and I’ve been told this, unless your bringing in millions of dollars of income, the bank doesn’t want you employed and will do what it can to eliminate your position. Because cutting costs is the only real way to increase profit. Because the market is saturated. They don’t even try to hide it.
Meanwhile, I’m being cucked. I get perfect ratings two years in a row, I get no promotion (even though they’ve admitted I should be), no raise, and a pity bonus. And I stand up for myself and I’m told “well, if you really feel that way, you’re welcome to leave.”
And then you have your sleazy executives tell you all the time to be prepared to work harder.
It’s bullshite

Welcome to the real world pal. This is how it always was. You just got used to some Unicorn fart fairy land courtesy of Covid. Buckle up or do something about it.

my friends who work from home easily save tens of thousands because they can babysit their kids most of the week
these old men are angry that young people know their worth and will not waste their time and energy on a company that will fire them the next day

bullshite. I know plenty of people who worked for banks in the 80s and 90s and employees were treated like rock stars. I don’t expect that. I expect them to act in their best interest. Which is encouraging high performing individuals to perform.

My office recently increased the number of in-office days. There just seems to be a lack of transparency into the reasoning, which makes it a lot harder to stomach the increase.
If they just said, "Look guys, we know that your productivity doesn't change when you're at home, but we have all of this empty office space and we need to get some use out of it," I think a lot of people would be disappointed, but understand the reasoning.
But when you cook up these convoluted, vague excuses that you can EASILY punch holes through, then you have employee morale in the office plummeting and discontent rising.
Especially, as was the case at my company, when they said the previous work-from-home arrangement was all good during the second half of last year and then used convoluted, vague excuses to "justify" the policy change.

Sounds great to me...
You're free to pursue any opportunities you'd like and if you are a producer or provide an outstanding service to your company, I'm sure they will accommodate you.
Everyone isn't paid the same in a company, nor should they all expect the same working situation.
As has been said, you live in a democracy, but you don't work in one.

Well since you do not know my employment, what i do and how AI cannot do what I do and have done for my employer for 22 years, what your replying to me is pure bullshite.
But dont let that stop you from painting the picture you want without all the facts.
The point is, there are ways of knowing if WFH people are not doing the job. You fricking hold them accountable, and the ones actually working and being responsible adult, you leave them alone.

Why do so many morons think it's impossible to work from home?
They don’t. They’re jealous AF that they’re not WFH.
Additionally, when it comes to private industry, why would anyone give a frick who works from home and who doesn’t.
It’s not your business.

Bimbos posting on Instagram about “working from home” while swimming and drinking mixed drinks fumbled remote work. Blame them.

I love seeing little angry grunt WFH people melt when told to get back in the office. With that said I can work from wherever I please. Get back in your corrals little hogs, I want to you chained to your desks in the rare instance I need to speak to you for 30 seconds twice a year ;)

The stock has just about doubled in three years (actually has including dividends) and they keep reporting record revenues and profits.
Seems you should be cool with WFH or them showing up to the office buck naked, if you keep getting those results.

I feel like the higher ups don’t trust their managers. They should know if WFH is working out for them
