What was the date of his last show? Is it available in archives? I've listened to the show since junior high. His voice is what I associate sleep with as I listened to the podcasts at night as I drift off. I seriously think it's why I haven't been able to sleep lately because the new guy's voice is grating.

Kenny has been doing an ok job, but Walton and Johnson complimented each other so well, that I don't see them going far after this.

no he hasn't. Hes horrible. Hes not fuuny, yet he tries to be. But not the same dry humor Walton possessed. Kenny is a try-hard. The Conan of local radio.

I hope Johnson finds another partner that compliments his act. Otherwise, I think its over.

Would usually have to change the station when Amos the old storyteller would come on.

Loved his stories about Edwin Edwards and Candy.

Did nobody mention Walton & Rumble when W&J split up for a little while? Rick Rumble would be a good replacement for John. He wasn't for Steve. I don't know if Rick is even still alive or in the business still but he wasn't too bad.

Disagreeing with the other side is one thing but they lost any semblance of rationality somewhere along the way and just became contributors to the current level of toxicity that political discussion has become,

Nothing close to this is true.

Yeah I thought for sure the old goat would fight through this and come back and tell us all kinds of stories about the hospital experience. Plus they kept saying again and again that he would be back real soon. I know how hospitals can be though, once any complications arise. My morning drive to work now will really be depressing now...

2 1/2 weeks ago. They actually left the air after he had become audible uncomfortable. They asked him if he was going to die on the air, and he said "I think I can pull it off."

Ken Webster, the show's executive producer, said "Walton and Johnson" will air Wednesday for listeners to share their favorite stories of Walton and the show.

Kidd was smart enough to own all the rights to the show but then surround himself by people good as and better than himself. He also had time to groom J-Si's Messican arse til he was ready to kind of take over the lead host spot.

And it doesn't hurt that his long-time cohosts are VERY popular with the masses. Big Al and Kelly Rasberry have a shite ton of fans on their own two legs.

I dare say it started with the 9/11 attacks

it just went to another level when Obama was elected
Yep. The constant bitching about moo-slims and general xenophobia turned me off well before Obama was elected. I can only imagine how much worse it got.

Not a fan but RIP anyway.
