This would give Lt. Governor ability to run from incumbent position in next election.
This would be the absolute worst case scenario for Louisiana conservatives as he's the most JBE friendly RINO in all of Louisiana and the ultimate status quo politician there is.
I'd much rather ride JBE out to the end of his term in 2023 and elect a reliable conservative.

I hope that this is the push needed for Louisiana residents to get off their asses and finally push back against this insane covid government overreach. But part of me knows they'll just bitch about it online and take it.

You are still allowed to opt out with a letter from a doctor with this vaccine mandate
They said this about masks in schools, and then promptly denied the exemptions.
People are wising up. It's not going to fly this time.

That piece of human shite needs to trot his grand children out on camera. Vaccinate them first to show us all how safe is allegedly is.

It's not like the Legislature will actually stand up to him. Bunch of spineless pussies

Did he do anything with this yet? Think he has 7 days from the committee vote.

they can't even make up their mind if gambling is bad or not.

eta: they're not really mandates. They said anyone can opt-out. A big nothing burger.
If you believe this, then you're an idiot. Just use your brain and think about this a little bit. If what you said is true, then why put it out as a requirement in the first place, because you can opt in and get your kids vaccinated at any time now without having a mandate. That's how it should be left, optional to get. If you want to sit idle and let shite pass where it's left optional to "opt out/not get" then you may as well just let the government control your whole life. Your method is essentially more of putting the cart ahead of the horse and at some point you're going to need that horse to slow down the cart.

.@MichaelEchols But you could see an instance where a local school official might have to call in law enforcement?
(Over the non mandate mandate)
@LADeptHealth Possibly. Like I said, anything is possible.

Well, tyrants don’t respect democracy, the voice of the people, or the constitution.
ALL ARE simply a stumbling block to what THEY WANT.
Such as it is with all tyrants.

Disclaimer: I did not actually hear what Edwards said on this, so just going with what has been stated here.
That being said, are you serious? There are other required immunizations for school, and you have always been able to opt out of those. This one SHOULD be no different if they are going to require it.
Now, I completely and vehemently disagree with making the COVID vaccine a requirement for children when it's not even a threat for over 99% of them. It's not like polio or any of the other diseases we vaccinate against that were actually pretty bad for children.
This is an abuse of power and overreach, but it's what we've come to expect from politicians like Edwards.

Oh, trust me, youre still voting. And most likely for the candidate you would never vote for in your lifetime. Someone has already sent in an absentee ballot for you
I mean, whats the worst that could happen to them? You show up, and file a protest ballot, and theirs gets tossed? Neither vote is allowed to be processed? Or you dont show up, and your absentee ballot counts?

dicktaster JBE, i mean dictator JBE
No need to listen to the members of congress on the committee who overwhelmingly objected to this, as well as all the citizens who stood up at the meeting and said something against it while not a single citizen came up and spoke in favor of it. I know what's best for you and you'll do what i say.
frick off asshat.

As expected, the Democratic governor sent a letter to the House Health and Welfare Committee, notifying them that he will override their 13-2 bipartisan vote against the plan and enact it against their wishes.
